Modern Love Story: Katelin + Marty

This week I decided to blog a love story. Who doesn’t love LOVE? We are highlighting of one of my couples who recently had their engagement session with me, Katelin + Marty. We recently captured their engagement portraits in Downtown Tampa, Florida a few weeks ago when the weather cooled off a little bit. We took them at the Le Meredian. FUN FACT: Le Meredian was an old courthouse and is now a luxury hotel. Katelin + Marty, well, they are both attorneys!

Katelin and Marty will be getting married at Bella Cosa in Lake Wales in October of 2024! I’ve done multiple weddings at this venue and I am a preferred vendor there. I have an affinity for old homes or estate house and Bella Cosa is rich in history. If you’re searching for a wedding venue you should definitely schedule a tour with them. You won’t regret it.

A little about Bella Cosa: The venue is luxurious, has 2 locations for your ceremony, and overlooks the beautiful Lake Wales. In the main building you will find 11 rooms to host the wedding party. I love a venue that includes everything all in one location! You have the suites, on-site rooms, ceremony and reception all in one place. How amazing is that?

Back to Katelin and Marty, their engagement session was ripped from the pages of VOGUE magazine. Katelin + Marty had a clear vision, and I like to think, I delivered!

Their Love Story:

Two things young Marty vowed he would never do:

(1) admit his mom was right

(2) date an attorney.

Fast forward to his last year of law school. Just like every year before then, law students planned to toast the new school year at Gainesville’s finest establishment: Fat Daddy’s. And just like every year before then, Marty’s mom begged him to go in the hopes that maybe he’d meet someone and finally settle down. After extensive encouragement (and perhaps even some bargaining), Marty finally caved. He gathered his buddies and set off to what he expected to be a boring mixer with a bunch of doe-eyed first years stressing over outlines at the outset of syllabus week. The last thing he expected was to meet Katelin. Even though she was in fact a doe-eyed first year stressing over outlines at the outset of syllabus week, Marty was smitten. Although he had to admit his mom was right, technically he only dated an attorney for a couple of months (Marty proposed shortly after Katelin passed her bar exam at their favorite vacation destination in Charleston, SC).

Long story short: Marty and Katelin have new vows they’re excited to share with their friends and family in October 2024.

I truly cannot wait to spend the day with Katelin and Marty next year! I know their wedding will be perfect! It’ll be filled with love, fashion + fun. What’s better than that? I’m very honored to have the opportunity to document one of their best days yet! You can see more of Katelin + Marty’s engagement session in Tampa here
