Magical Evening in the Agafay Desert

Once upon a time, crossing over land and sea, we find ourselves magically transported to the mystical desert sands of Agafay, and into the gorgeous micro-wedding of Adelaine and Jackson. Still pinching myself to have had the wonderful opportunity to shoot these two in such an otherworldly venue—it was just beyond my wildest dreams!

Traditional Moroccan music performed for the couple’s friends and family while the couple danced

The venue is set in the rocky plateaus of the Atlas Mountains, where it is only a 45 minute drive from Marrakech. You are removed enough from everything to feel remote and have privacy, but close enough to the city where it doesn’t take an all-day journey to arrive here. Agafay Luxury Camp boasts 20 tented pavilions for glamping, with sweeping views of majestic dunes, canyons, ridges and gorges. The luxurious tents are spread out wide, so you still get a sense of seclusion. On site, there are a variety of private dining spaces spread around the pool area with an unobscured view of the desert. Imagine open-air fine dining right under the Atlas Mountains—a rare treat indeed. Other amenities at the resort include a Moroccan hammam, massage, and facialist—which you will definitely want to book so you can rejuvenate your skin—because let’s face it, we’re in the middle of the desert! The resort also has fun activities and excursions (available by request) to take advantage of, including camel rides, 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes so you can get your adrenaline fix while you’re out in this gorgeous landscape.

This venue provided the perfect backdrop for Adelaine and Jackson’s micro wedding, and allowed for people from all over the world to converge and celebrate the gorgeous couple. It felt so special to be witness to and document this intimate gathering on camera.

A really nice element was that guests were able to dine adjacent to the gorgeous elevated pool. There’s nothing like hearing the sound of trickling water amongst the din of lively conversation mixed with food and wine with your loved ones. Truly a wonderful day.

This all reminded me of a couple of quotes I really love and think are so appropriate for this and so inspired:

Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures.” – Lewis Carroll

and

“The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams.” – Oprah Winfrey

Looking at my future couples that are reading this—I hope this convinced you to grab your partner’s hand and take the leap in the name of adventure, and marry in all the far off places—but most importantly, don’t forget to take me along with you!

Had to include a few fun scans from my film camera as a little bonus! This is a service I’m also offering. Shoot me an email to discuss adding this to your package! Film is magical and the way it captures the moment is unmatched by any other medium.
