At the end of the day, of course this is all up to you and how you want your day to be. But here are five reasons why you should:

1. Extra time and more intimate

If I’m being truly honest here, your day will fly by. You are constantly moving, the day is flying by and either you’re getting your makeup done, you’re setting up the venue or wherever your ceremony/reception is held. The time you will have with your partner is during your ceremony and reception, and it is shared with your family and friends. While you of course are incredibly grateful that they came to celebrate, sometimes having that time together, just you two, is definitely needed.

2. More time for couple portraits

During your cocktail hour, while your guests are mingling with friends and family, this is the time to squeeze in family photos and your portraits. While of course your portraits will be taken after your ceremony, the whole crew won’t be stressed to go down the list of family members who need photos and to make sure the photographer and videography have their time to grab the photos and videos needed. Now, sometimes I’m at weddings where the couple isn’t nervous at all, and then I get the couples who are! It is totally TOTALLY normal to have those nerves and gitters, but a first look can ease and calm the nerves.
